They try to hold us back

Keeping us in the dark

Never letting us see the light

They try to make us feel

Miserable

Sad

Angry

And alone

They tell us

'We have to be smarter'

'We have to be stronger'

'We have to be…'

'If only…'

They feed off our negative emotions

Giving them strength

And more power over us

They pull us down into the depths of despair

Our demons have the power to control us

That is if we give in

We Are The Creatures Of Darkness

We live in darkness

Following behind people

Who's hearts are clouded

With revenge

Hatred

Sadness

When the sun is up

We stay hidden hidden

Lurking within the shadows

When the sun goes down

We come out

Searching for people

Who's hearts are clouded

To take them to where they belong

With us

The creatures of darkness

What were once people

But now

With tinted black hearts

Fake smiles

In this world

People hide behind fake smiles

Fake laughs

Fake joy

Accompanied by other fake emotions

So people won't see

Their grief

Their anger

Their pain

And their sorrow

All their emotions they try to keep hidden

In which we believe them

Our eyes see nothing wrong

Cause we are all hiding behind masks

Wearing our fake smiles

So the world won't see
